Meet Dr. Valeria Krocak, Psy.D.

Founder And Clinical Director

Having experienced war, natural disaster, and immigration as a young child, I saw firsthand the psychological and physical impacts of trauma on people. It wasn’t until I was a practicing clinician, however, that I learned that trauma includes more than life-threatening experiences. Emotional, physical, sexual abuse, bullying, and neglect are all traumatic experiences that shape how we feel about ourselves and our relationships with others.

If you’re tired of living with the aftermath of trauma, please know that healing is possible. You don’t have to live with constant anxiety, depression, insomnia, loneliness, and insecurity in yourself.

Therapy can help you to feel more calm, content, confident in yourself, and connected to the people in your life.

Are you emotionally exhausted from worrying about relationships, work, family, and the world around you? Do you experience physical symptoms of anxiety or depression that limit your ability to immerse yourself in social experiences, pursue hobbies, a dream job, or even dating? Living with patterns of anxiety or depression can slowly drain us of our freedoms by limiting our perceptions of ourselves and our ability to cope.

The challenges we face in life can feel overwhelming at times, leading us to lose trust in ourselves and others. If you find yourself lacking energy, feeling hopeless, socializing less, and engaging in negative patterns of thinking, don’t give up! There are many roads that lead to wellness, and you don’t have to walk them alone.

Do you often feel overwhelmed by your own thoughts, feelings, and interactions with the world around you? Our struggles can manifest themselves in a plethora of ways; disordered eating patterns, difficulty maintaining close relationships, or having trouble taking care of ourselves. While opening up can be incredibly scary, I am so proud of you for pursuing to explore these feelings, and I would be honored to work alongside you as you seek to understand your innermost self on a deeper level. It may seem impossible to ignore the voice in your head that says you aren’t strong or capable enough to heal and become the person you want to be; I hope to introduce an alternative voice that validates just how hard life can be, reminds you how far you’ve come, and encourages you to feel your feelings with no shame or self-judgment.

Are you struggling to develop intimate relationships? If you feel disconnected, find it challenging to express your true self, or encounter obstacles in fostering closeness, I am here to provide guidance and support. In my practice, I specialize in helping individuals develop deep and meaningful connections — including friendships, workplace relationships, and romantic partnerships.

In today’s fast-paced world, developing relationships can be daunting. The aftermath of the global pandemic has further highlighted the need for genuine connection, as many of us have experienced increased isolation and emotional distance. I understand these challenges and am here to provide guidance, support, and tools to help you overcome them. I am here to create a safe and non-judgmental space to explore various aspects of your relationships.

Meet Fernanda Mayorga,
AMFT 135982

My work as a therapist is guided by my appreciation for the human experience and informed by my many years in personal psychotherapy that began when I was a teen. I believe that there is great importance in the experiences we have and the ways they affect who we are, how we feel, and how we see the world.

Life demands so much of us as we try to grow into the people that we want to be.  It can be hard to find the time, space, or strength to take care of ourselves. It is completely normal for you to want or need support when you are feeling anxious, lonely, stressed, or hopeless, to have your feelings recognized. Therapy offers you the opportunity to be seen, understood, and valued by someone who is willing to carry the weight of those experiences with you, sorrows, triumphs, tears, laughter, and all.
