MEET DR. ELIZABETH BREWER
Come as you are. Many people carry the belief that something in them is broken. I tend to meet that belief with curiosity. Over time, it often becomes clear that what feels like a problem has been, in its own way, a form of protection. Something inside you learned how to help you survive, even if it no longer feels like it’s working. My work has come to center around a simple but often unfamiliar idea, that healing is not about fixing what is broken.
My path into this work has been shaped as much by movement and the body as by psychology. With over 17 years of experience working with the body as a movement therapist, yoga teacher (E-RYT), aquatic therapist, and dancer, I’ve come to understand the body as a kind of storyteller, holding experiences that don’t always have words yet. I have also spent almost a decade working in high-performance environments, supporting workplace well-being in fast-paced, demanding spaces. That perspective continues to shape how I understand stress, and the pressure many people carry while still showing up and functioning on the outside. Alongside my clinical work, I serve as teaching faculty at a graduate university, supporting the development of future clinicians in the field of psychology. That connection to an evolving field naturally informs and deepens the way I work with clients.

and Social Contexts
My work is informed by the wisdom of the body and evidence-based approaches allowing us to bridge scientific understanding with lived, embodied experience. My therapeutic approach honors the full spectrum of who you are. In this space, your identities, your history, your way of being in the world are not something to explain or defend. They belong here. My work often resonates with people who are longing for a place where they can simply be themselves.
And while this work can touch deep and tender places, it doesn’t live only in the heavy. There is room for curiosity, for movement, and for expression. Sometimes there is laughter. Sometimes there is surprise. Sometimes there is the feeling of coming back into your body in a way that feels a little more like home. You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. We can start wherever you are.
